Alamo Square

Nestled between the pan handle and downtown San Francisco, Alamo Square is a lovely park looking out at the Painted Ladies. The park is featured in the opening sequence to “Full House“. In another notable bit of trivia, author Alice Walker lived in one of the painted ladies up until the mid 1990s.

It is a perfect spot for a picnic, if the day isn’t too grey. However, it is also on many tour bus routes so do not be alarmed if a bus load of tourists invades your space for a few minutes.
